Inauguration tuesday was cause for celebration around the world, and the Viper Room was packed with partygoers ready for what GIRL ON GIRL had to deliver. Special guest DJs divaDANIELLE, KARIN BASH and MLE threw down their Electro & Funky House finest from start to finish. MLE's set was one for the books, precision mixed, deep, dirty underground Electro and Techno...as her dancers delivered a jaw-dropping performance that involved melted chocolate, and oh-so erotic moves that mesmerized the crowd. As they engaged audience members by feeding them strawberries dipped in said chocolate, MLE's set built up momentum sending the venue into a dance-party frenzy!
Sugar Hooker clothing hosted a live webcast streaming to over 19,000 viewers actively chatting and partying online with us. It was quite the night!
Every Sunday, DJ EVA cooks up a hot lineup of talent for BROKE at The Little Rock in Tarzana, CA, that consistently draws club denizens of the valley area for tasty cuts of heavy bass and relentless beats. On January 3rd, I was invited to throw down with DJs TROUBLE, ROXANNE and MIYUKI. Being the Sunday after a long New Year’s weekend, I was unsure the turnout, but this was soon put to rest when I arrived, there were plenty of heads ready for a good time. The ladies all had serious skills on the decks and kept the crowd moving with a range of breakbeat and electro house. I was honored and humbled to perform with such talented DJs. A bombastic night. I even got boobies flashed at me during my set.

San Diego's female DJ scene is alive and thriving, as it increasingly draws top talent each month, thanks to Red Sonya's devotion to the art of promotion. I am happy to report I will be throwin' down with the SD sisters in the month of May.
Excitement and nervousness toyed with me as I entered the Scratch DJ Academy for my 1st lesson with Turntablist superstars Shortee and Faust. I had signed up for Scratching class, better know as 202. It’s been something I wanted to learn, ever since the academy opened. My expertise has always been in long, smooth blends, and the prospect of learning to scratch offered a new foray into the world of DJing. Being a fan of classes, personal classroom attention in a structured format (to keep me motivated) appealed to me.

For its first year effort the LA Women’s Music Festival at Woodley Park on Saturday, August 26, Females on Fire in conjunction with Gaia Rocks established a well-organized precedent for future festivals to come. Not since the Lillith Fair, has an event taken place to showcase female talent, that also embraced the principles of the Green Era, culminating in a ground-breaking eco-music event powered by solar energy. Mona Holmes of SheJay worked tirelessly to unite some of LA's finest DJ talent under its pink dance tent, and I was honored to represent with a set.
